Thatched Cottage is a Grade II Listed property believed to date from the 16th Century and has a timber framed construction with rendered elevations under a mainly thatched roof. The setting is exceptionally peaceful, with the locality shared only with the attached neighbour and no passing traffic. Occasionally, during the summer months, the quiet may be interrupted by the sound of leather upon willow as a cricket match takes place beyond the front gate.
The cottage retains much of the character one expects to see, including exposed timberwork, gently vaulted ceilings in both bedrooms, a fabulous inglenook fireplace in the sitting room with stone tiled hearth and an adjacent bread oven that is open to provide a display alcove. Whichever window you look out of, the view will be of the garden, countryside or the cricket field.
The well stocked garden plot is approaching a third of an acre and surrounds the cottage on three sides from south, to east, to north and has delightful views. Within the garden is a detached single garage and an outbuilding.
There are two parking spaces a short distance from the cottage by path and we understand the owner has a vehicular right of way around the edge of the cricket field to reach Thatched Cottage.
