The Buying process

At Beresfords, we’re here to support you at every step as you purchase your dream home. To give an idea of the buying journey, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide, but we are here to answer all your questions and help you on your way.

Reservation Reservation

Once you’ve chosen your home, formally reserve it at a reservation appointment. This exciting meeting will confirm the details of your property and your reservation fee will secure it for 28 days while the purchase progresses. Ask a legal advisor and solicitor/conveyancer to help with your purchase. We can recommend someone from our list of trusted professionals.

Mortgage Mortgage

If you’ll be paying with a mortgage, now is the moment to apply with your chosen lender and you’ll need to gather several documents including:
Proof of your deposit
Bank statements
Proof of identity e.g. driving license or passport
Proof of address e.g. a utility bill
Credit report

Conveyancing

Conveyancing

Your solicitor will begin the process of conveyancing, your mortgage lender is likely to instruct a survey of your new property, and you may be able to make some choices about personalisation of your home.
