Beresfords & Journey Homes celebrate Groundbreaking at Vicarage Wood

On Tuesday, March 18th, in partnership with developer Journey Homes, we hosted a memorable groundbreaking event at Vicarage Wood, located on the previous land of French's Farm in Wigley Bush Lane, Brentwood. The event marked the exciting start of a development that will bring eight beautifully designed, sustainable homes to the area – with a completion date set for winter 2025.

The occasion was made even more special with the presence of local vicar, Reverend Justin Hutcherson, who led a blessing of the land. This thoughtful ceremony underscored the project's dedication to respecting and honouring the history and heritage of the previous land and what's to come. It also served as a reminder of the strong connection Vicarage Wood aims to foster between its future residents and the local community.

A Vision for Quality, Sustainability, and Community

The new development promises to deliver high-quality homes that will blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural beauty. Each of the eight properties will feature four spacious bedrooms and be set within a private, gated community. Designed with sustainability in mind, the homes will incorporate cutting-edge technologies that are both environmentally friendly and in keeping with the charming, rural setting of Vicarage Wood.

Both Beresfords and Journey Homes are committed to ensuring that this project not only enhances the local area but also preserves the stunning environment that makes it so special. By focusing on sustainability and thoughtful design, this new development is poised to offer a modern, comfortable living experience for families looking to settle in a peaceful, vibrant community.

A Day of Connection and Tradition

In addition to the blessing, the event featured a symbolic gesture for future generations: the burial of a time capsule. This capsule, filled with local mementos and messages from local stakeholders and businesses alike, is a lasting tribute to the strong sense of community that has always defined the area.

The development's location offers the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. Residents will enjoy close access to nearby country parks, stables, and a planned orchard, ideal for family living. The highly regarded St Peter’s primary school is just a stone's throw away, while the M25 and A12 are only four minutes away by car. For commuters, Brentwood station, just eight minutes from the site, provides mainline and Elizabeth Line services directly into London.

Words from the Key Figures Behind the Project

Paul Beresford, CEO of Beresfords Group, shared his excitement about the project: "We are delighted to be part of this significant moment in the development of Vicarage Wood. This project represents an exciting opportunity to create a thriving new community while honouring the heritage of the land. The event is a testament to the strong collaboration between Journey Homes, local leaders, and the community."

Bejan Roohi, founder & CEO of Journey Homes, added: "Our vision for Vicarage Wood is to create a development that integrates seamlessly with its surroundings and provides high-quality homes for future generations. The time capsule and blessing of the land reflect our dedication to fostering a meaningful connection between new residents and the local community."

Looking Forward to the Future

The Vicarage Wood development is more than just a collection of new homes; it will create a brand-new, vibrant community that blends modern living with the rich heritage of the land. As construction progresses, we look forward to seeing how this exciting project will contribute to the area and offer future residents a place to call home for years to come.
