The only way is up say Essex buyers

I’m pleased to be able to report, in my first blog of the New Year, that the Essex property market has something of a spring in its step.

The results of our first Housing Market Survey are in, and after pouring over the findings we’re pleased to see that our customers are pretty confident about the property market this year with almost half saying that prices are at an affordable level and mortgages are getting easier to obtain.

Younger buyers in Essex are particularly optimistic about the future, with an impressive 60% expecting prices to finish the year higher than they were at the start.

The findings follow a strong 2012 for Beresfords which saw our 12 branches between them sell over £345m worth of property and let and manage over 2,000 properties. This all paints a promising picture for the year ahead.

As confidence soars, we expect to see many more buyers entering the market, with first-time buyers eager to take advantage of improvements in the mortgage market. Our own mortgage tables reveal that there are a number of new competitive deals for these buyers.

To meet demand, we have already taken on several new properties from Hornchurch to Colchester - since the start of January so there’s plenty of property prospecting to be done and deals to be had! Many of our vendors are looking to take advantage of our current 0% VAT offer.

As a car man, one of my favourites has to be this five bedroom detached home in Brentwood which comes with its own Bentley. Thankfully, the property also includes a double garage with electric doors!
