The Great Escape – Countryside Breaks

29th September 2020

Your autumnal stay in the Cotswolds

As the leaves start to fall and the days become shorter, it's time to think about all things autumnal. From dusting the cobwebs off of your jumpers and boots to planning bonfire night, Halloween, and other cosy occasions.

If you missed out on your summer holiday this year, now's the time to plan a staycation. While we can usually point to a map and choose somewhere exotic to go on holiday, we often forget the beauty of our own country. With stunning landscapes, fresh air, traditional Cotswold brick buildings, independent businesses and eateries galore, the Cotswolds really is somewhere special.

Countryside Breaks is made up of two quaint and idyllic cottages, Yew Tree and Lorien Cottage. They are perfect for long weekends and breaks away with family and friends.

The Cotswolds sit across five counties: Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire and cover almost 800 square miles so there's more to see and do than you can imagine.

Surrounded by idyllic Cotswold countryside, make the great escape to a home away from home.

Things to do

After all that relaxing by the fire and indulging in delicious food, you may wish to get out and about while you're away! Both cottages are just a drive away from designer outlet centre, Bicester Village meaning you can get your Christmas shopping done or treat yourself, the choice is yours!

With fields on your doorstep and four-legged friends welcome in the cottages, there are many idyllic dog walks in the area. Just remember a sturdy pair of boots and wrap up warm!

Must visits

For local produce, gifts and homeware, Daylesford is a must visit. You can enjoy some food and a coffee there or take some delicious ingredients back to the cottage to cook up a storm.

Blenheim Palace is a beautiful World Heritage site where you can partake in walking tours, art exhibitions, Christmas markets and more!

Take a leisurely stroll along Broadway High Street to explore the array of independent shops and enjoy fish and chips from Russell's.

The cottages themselves consist of beautiful interior design, your home comforts including 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and Noble Isle products in the bathrooms. Lorien Cottage sleeps 4 and Yew Tree Cottage sleeps 7, (although we'll have to limit to 6 due to the current government guidelines).

Both cottages have private gardens, fully equipped kitchens and Wi-Fi.
