A new year often means out with the old and in with the new and for some people that means looking for a new career or job.  

Beresfords is one of the country’s leading estate agencies having the advantage of being totally independent and also maintaining our roots as a family oriented company. Our success has been recognised by winning a whole host of industry awards including being voted Best Estate Agency in Essex this year for the third year running. We also achieved national success in 2014 winning titles such as Online Marketer of the Year and New Homes Specialist of the Year.

When potential candidates come for an interview, they are always impressed with the number of our staff who have not only been with us for a considerable length of time but have progressed  onto bigger and better things and that’s always a good indicator, happy people stay put but not still! 

Our branches are friendly and relaxed places to work and our ethical and dedicated approach is geared to achieving the best possible results for our clients. 

The number of staff has risen by 30% annually and our staff retention rate is 90%, highlighting that even in the competitive and fast moving world of property and financial services, when someone finds a good environment, they stay there.

We’ve recently carried out some in-house analysis and were delighted to find that over 15% of our people have been at Beresfords for ten years or more.  We also have many staff members working here who started off as apprentices or trainees and have now progressed through senior roles to management and then onto the directorship, quickly climbing the ladder and enjoying the rewards.

We pride ourselves on having some of the most talented and professional individuals within the property industry and the potential to rise up the ranks is enormous. To ensure this we provide comprehensive training, encouragement and a clear career development plan to make sure we keep and nurture the best employees. We recognise that our all our employees, from managers to support staff, each have a crucial role to play. 

It helps that we are continually expanding our business both in sales and lettings. In 2013 we opened  in Great Dunmow and in 2014 Maldon and we have other expansion plans in the pipeline across Essex for 2015. Because we are constantly evolving, we are able offer the very latest systems to work with which contributes to a first-class working environment that is positive, upbeat and professional. There is a real feeling that we work as one and we all enjoy the “buzz” this brings and being part of a vibrant team.

We offer a range of exciting financial rewards including a generous basic salary, commission-based incentives and bonuses. Again this year we had our Beresfords’ Awards Night – a glittering summer event where we rewarded and honoured our staff. There were categories covering a whole range of departments and specialist fields within the group, presented by Chairman Paul Beresford.
