Braintree is an historic market town surrounded by stunning chocolate box style villages. The town centre features many high street names and independent retailers, along with a plentiful supply of restaurants and bars. Twice weekly there is also the famous Braintree market.

Just on the outskirts of town is the Freeport Designer Outlet Village where visitors come from surrounding areas to experience designer shopping at a fraction of the price. There you will also find leading restaurant chains, a multiplex cinema and bowling alley.

The gentle rolling countryside around Braintree offers excellent relaxation opportunities. Great Notley Country Park and Discovery Centre is set within 100 acres of beautiful countryside and is a mecca for dog walkers and ramblers.

For commuters the area could not be better. Braintree benefits from its own railway station with direct access into London Liverpool street in just over an hour. The A120, A12 and M11 are also close. For those who travel on business or are prone to weekends away then Stansted airport is only a 20 minute drive away.

The villages around Braintree are truly picturesque. The views of the well known green, pond, cottages and church in Finchingfield are renowned. It has been described as "the most photographed village in England".

Felsted is primarily notable for Felsted School, which dates back to the 16th century, and situated in 80 acres of beautiful grounds in the village.

Great Bardfield is a small village near Finchingfield. It has a beautiful church and a fine collection of houses dating back to the 16th century.

Gosfield Village has a mix of very old properties, dating back to middle ages, and others built up to the later part of the 1900’s.
