Christmas comes early for 12 Essex charities – Paul Beresford reports

By the Beresfords Marketing Team - 17th December 2012

We've been operating in Essex for 44 years and in that (very long) time we're delighted to have been able to support some of the many charities that are relied upon by residents in the county.

These charities work tirelessly throughout the year, not just at Christmas, but we wanted to help many of them to continue their good work next year through our '12 days before Christmas' charity campaign.

Each of our 12 offices was invited to nominate one charity to share a donation of £2,700, with those chosen revealed daily from 12th to the 23rd.

Below are the first six to receive donations from our branches:

Day 1 - 12th December

Our Billericay branch nominated the Hamelin Trust which is based in the town and supports people with learning disabilities and their families. The donation, presented by Steven Clements, will be used to help provide short break services, a resource centre, supported accommodation, and outreach services.

Day 2 - 13th December

Mathew Lacks (far left) and Michael Street (far right) at our Braintree branch presented a donation to charity workers from PARC, a group that supports parents with disabled children. Based in Great Notley Park, PARC is run by local parents and includes pre-school and holiday club services.

Day 3 - 14th December

Brentwod’s Carl Gable (far left) and Adam Johnson (far right) met with their chosen charity SNAP to find out more about the support they offer to families who have children with special needs and disabilities, from their base in the town.

Day 4 - 15th December

CHESS, a homelessness charity, were invited to meet Alex Beresford (far left) and Mark Deudney (far right) from our Chelmsford branch to collect their donation. As estate agents the issue of homelessness is close to our hearts and something we hope we can help alleviate.

Day 5 - 16th December

Our Colchester branch were keen to support CRY which since 1995 has been helping to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) and sudden death syndrome (SDS) from the town’s General Hospital. Craig Ganderton (far left) and Martin Spence (far right) presented the donation.

Day 6 - 17th December

Mike Sayers presented Gidea Park’s donation to Little Treasures, an Essex based charity that offers practical and emotional support to families with disabled children or those with a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home.

Paul Beresford, Managing Director at Beresfords, comments:

"We are pleased to be able to offer our support to some of the many charities that provide an invaluable service to Essex residents, not just at Christmas, but throughout the year. We hope that the charities nominated as part of our 12 days of charitable giving this Christmas will be helped to continue their work next year."

We’re still announcing the charities daily via our @Beresfords twitter feed and homepage with a further blog from me to follow. My final of the year!
