By the Beresfords Marketing Team - 19th November 2014
It is that time of the year again when vanity takes a back seat for an entire month. This November, Beresfords have called upon its troops to Grow a Mo’ in the name of raising funds for the Movember Foundation.
With a lot of enthusiasm, and a little persuading, a whole host of our people, including Chairman Paul Beresford and directors Terry Holmes and John Lineham, have gone bare faced for the challenge.
From the beginning of this month, our Mo’ Bros have grown their ‘taches in a bid to raise funds and awareness about health issues that commonly effect men. By the end of our first week, we have achieved donations in the facial-hair raising sum of £160, and that is just the beginning!
The donations we aquire will contribute towards the funding of 800 global programmes that the Foundation is invested in, with the vision of making a consious and lasting improvement to men’s health.
For instance, it goes towards volunteer and helpline programmes to be implemented by Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, so supporting sufferers and educating men about the symptoms is imperative. The Foundation also prioritises raising awareness about testicular cancer and mental illness.
At Beresfords, supporting life saving causes has always been important to us. In the last couple of months we have raised donations for the British Heart Foundation (BHF), Genes for Jeans Day and the MacMillian Cancer Trust and are now proud to support the Foundation’s work.
