A record breaking year

We're delighted to announce that the last 12 months have been a record breaking period for us in terms of property sales, lettings and mortgage services.

Figures show an increase in turnover of 37% since 2014/2015, as well as a rise of properties sold - 1,803 up 150 on previous year - and an up lift in managed lettings - 1,543 up 75 on previous year. Our specialist mortgage division also arranged a record number of mortgages with 1,587 being arranged in the last year alone.

The figures follow back-to-back years of growth, where development since 2011/2012 has proven strongest in mortgage services (up 45%), followed by managed lettings (up 30%), property sales (up 25%) and lettings (up 10%).

Paul Beresford, our Chairman/Managing Director, said: "The growth in sales has been driven by increasing demand for property in the area with many City workers looking for their place in the country or affordable housing outside of the capital. Residents to the south of the county have also migrated northwards benefiting from cheaper property prices and increased quality of life."

On the mortgage side, there is growing demand for what is essentially a bespoke service where independent mortgage advisers such as our own can use their expertise and experience to source the best mortgage for an individual's needs from the whole of the market. It's vital that people have the widest choice of mortgages so they are confident they are getting what is best for them, not the bank!

He continued: "At Beresfords we have a highly efficient team of experts covering residential sales, lettings and mortgages and all have worked really hard to achieve year-on-year growth. Our award-winning marketing team has also ensured that properties are given the best-selling opportunity too, which has strengthened our market position."

We have recently re-branded our Country Homes department to Beresfords Country Village to further cement our success in the top end of the market. We are also expanding our Land and New Homes Team to increase our share of the marketplace, and have opened our latest branch in Witham. All of this comes with increased employment opportunities and as a result Beresfords is recruiting across the board.
