Spring is the perfect time to be thinking about making a move. The flowers are in full bloom, nights are staying light and bright and there is an infectious spring cheer in the air.
Here are some easy and inexpensive tips to get your home market ready:
1. Add a lick of paint- A coat of paint can do wonders to both interiors and exterior. It creates a fresh and clean appearance. Marks and scuffs can be removed easily enough with hot soapy water then voila with a brush and some emulsion, job done. Besides who can resist the smell of fresh paint!
2. Dust those webs away- Dusting and hoovering is key. Once you have had a thorough clear out and declutter, it will be easier to maintain when those last minute viewings pop up.
3. Mow and prune- Don't let that unruly bush ruin the garden aesthetic. Simply take the sheers and mower and clip away at wild hedges, overgrown lawns and prickly rose bushes. If your garden is on the simple side, colourful pot plants and bedding flowers can create a cheerful and attractive setting. First impressions are key. The outdoor space is what all purchasers will see first.
4. New throws and cushions- This can be a really inexpensive, yet effective way of creating a new look. Not only will it help when photography is being taken, it will also help with first impressions.
5. Step out of your 'own home zone'- It's easy to become a bit blinded by your own surroundings and your belongings, which can sometimes be deemed as clutter by others. Take a step back and think what you can eliminate or tuck away to create a sense of space. If in doubt take a look at how home stores lay out their room displays: minimal and well presented.
