It's slowly starting to happen, the days are getting longer, the air is noticeably kinder in temperature, daffodils are out and bumble bees are buzzing around. Spring is well on its way.
We're coming up to the most popular time of year to move home so if movings on your mind, here are our top tips to make your property the bee's knees!
With brighter warmer days and plenty of blossoming flowers and greenery, the garden is a great starting point:
- Prune, weed and trim: When the weather changes people are focusing on al fresco dining/BBQâ??s and entertaining. This can be a huge appeal to potential purchasers that are keen on having outside space, so ensure your garden/terrace look as well kept as possible. Add some pot plans or simply ensure that the current foliage is trimmed and kept tidy.
- A lick of paint: A freshly painted gable or cladding, always helps to present the property in the best light. With longer days why not spend a couple of hours adding some TLC to the outside of your property. Imagery is key in marketing your property and they say the camera never lies.
- Hose/Jet wash driveways: The winter often brings with it damp and moss. Jet washing decking and driveways can help those potential purchasers to see your property in its best light and show that it's well maintained and looked after
- A little staging goes a long way: Make sure you have fresh flowers/diffusers/fruit and pleasing items in the home when you have viewings. People will have a much better perception of you and your home.
- The entrance hall is often the smallest space in the property. It's also the first part of the home people see when they arrive and the last when they leave so make it stand out for the right reason.
- Add some colour: It's proven that colour affects people's mood, add some inexpensive colourful throws/cushions/artwork to give an uplifting and bright feel.
- First impressions count: good dust, hoover, bed change and general spring clean will ensure that your property looks the part.
