Plan your Cotswolds staycation with Countryside Breaks

6th March 2020

The days are slowly but surely getting that little bit longer, and spring is on the horizon. It's time to dust off the cobwebs and think about taking a break somewhere scenic. The Cotswolds are known for rolling countryside, charming cottages, cosy pubs, and dog walks galore!

The Cotswolds sit across five counties, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire, and cover almost 800 square miles, so there's more to see and do than you can imagine.

Discover the cottages

Our idyllic cottages were created from a vision of making memories, relaxing and unwinding as well as discovering such a stunning part of the country.

Both cottages are like a home away from home with welcoming fireplaces and charming decor, plus they're easily accessible by both rail and car.

Yew Tree Cottage

The picturesque Yew Tree Cottage looks like something from a fairytale. It sleeps seven plus
there's room for a few furry friends if you wish! It's the perfect retreat for a group getaway whether for an occasion or just because.

The exposed Cotswolds brick and the chic interior decor make the living room a hub of cosiness to sit back with a good book or enjoy a film night with friends.

The kitchen boasts modern amenities to prepare hearty meals when you're not indulging in the latest delights at local pubs and restaurants. Head to Broadway High Street for independent shops, fantastic fish and chips from Russells and The Swan pub which is renowned for its delicious menu.

Lorien Cottage

The Grade II-listed Lorien Cottage sits among a row of quaintly thatched cottages. Its historic charm has been lovingly restored with touches of luxury placed throughout. Sleeping four, each bedroom consists of a cloudlike king-size bed to sink into after a long day exploring the beauty of the Cotswolds.

The secret garden offers total seclusion from the outside world and overlooks a field of grazing cows. It's the ideal place to enjoy a coffee and a croissant on a fresh spring or summer morning.

If you decide to venture out and are keen to do some shopping, Bicester Village is just 34 minutes away in the car.

What's on in the Cotswolds?

Cheltenham is just a 35-minute drive from the Yew Tree Cottage, and if you're planning a visit for May, donâ??t miss the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in association with BBC Radio 2. The five day event is one of the countryâ??s best-loved jazz festivals consisting of international jazz icons, up and coming new artists and unique performances. - Cheltenham Jazz Festival 5th-10th May

You may have heard of the Cheese Rolling festival, which takes place every year in Gloucestershire and began in the 1800s. The intriguing event includes locals and tourists from far and wide chasing a 4kg cheese wheel down a steep hill. Whoever catches the cheese is the winner. And the prize? You guessed it - more cheese! - Cheese rolling at Cooper's Hill 25th May
