Move to Upminster

This suburban town in the London Borough of Havering could be the perfect location for relocating. This is because Upminster can provide the best of both worlds, as a result of being able to offer various great transport links whilst also being surrounded by lots of beautiful countryside for you to enjoy and explore.

The name 'Upminster' was originally derived from Old English 'upp' and 'mynster', which meant a large church on high ground. Beresfords first home was Upminster, as it was first established as an independent practice here by RD and EG Beresford back in 1968.

A comment from our Upminster Sales Manager, Nathan Francis

Despite the Pandemic and all the challenges within our industry the local property market within Upminster has remained very strong.

There has always been high demand from those aspiring to move from surrounding towns due to the great amenities and the the open green spaces that create a pleasant back drop to our local community, as well as to take advantage of the well performing local schools for all ages.

We have seen demand increase not just from the local market, but also the London market now looking to move to the Home Counties. This would be due to a change for many now working from home and looking for more living space inside and a garden or a larger garden, yet still wanting great connectivity to London with Upminsters C2C station giving fast access to Fenchurch Street in just over 20 minutes.

This increased demand has been met with a shortage of property and, therefore, increasing prices over the last 12 months. Despite the Government's stamp duty holiday coming to an end there is still a very strong appetite for those looking to move home and where the majority of properties are receiving multiple bids from a variety of buyers.

My best advice to those looking to move home would be to market their own property before looking to buy allowing time for marketing to reach the widest audience and achieve best price. Beresfords have a network of offices and state of the art marketing to help you do just that.

Also, once a buyer has been secured for your own property, you become a proceedable buyer, and this adds value to any offer you make going forward. We can also help you become legally and financially prepared with advice from one of our mortgage advisors or friendly solicitors putting you in pole position? and helping you to agree a sale on a solid foundation.
