It's Official! Chelmsford is the Best Place to Live in the East.
Wivenhoe and Frinton-on-Sea also top the charts.
The Sunday Times recently announced that Chelmsford is the best place to live in the East, and its best addresses are in Moulsham Street's semis and terraces. Chelmsford was awarded top spot thanks to its state, independent and grammar schools and fast connections to the City of London. It also stood out from the crowd thanks to its new Bond Street shopping centre, which boasts a John Lewis and an Everyman Cinema, and its picturesque parks and cathedral.
Beresfords has been marketing properties in Chelmsford for over 25 years and is not surprised by the award win. Alex Beresford, Area Director, Chelmsford, remarks: "Chelmsford is a very thriving city and has become increasingly popular with families moving out of London looking for a great quality of life. Families are swapping their two-bedroom apartments in the City for a three-four-bedroom house in Chelmsford with a large garden. Chelmsford also has excellent schools, thriving centre, and a real community feel, so it's no wonder house hunters are packing their bags and heading to Chelmsford."
The Sunday Times also praised two towns in North East Essex: Wivenhoe, on the outskirts of Colchester, and Frinton-on-Sea, a seaside town.
Wivenhoe is a picturesque fishing town located on the banks of the river Colne and was marked out for its relatively affordable homes, pretty riverside location and proximity to nature reserves. Whereas Frinton-on-Sea was the second most popular location in the UK to retire. The town was chosen due to its high proportion of over 60s, low crime rate and bustling independent High Street and open spaces and seascapes.
